Abkani Demons aka Xenos are the main antagonists in the 2005 film Alone In The Dark.
Abkani Demons are creatures of darkness which wiped out the Abkani Indians 10,000 years ago. They are subterranean and photosensitive. They leave an electro-magnetic signature which allows them to be tracked. Abkani Demons possess and mutate men which adds to the demon's population. They do this by fusing a symbiont creature to the spine of captured men who are then controlled by the demons.
Abkani artifacts open a dimensional gate to a cavern which holds millions of demons ready to invade our world. The cavern and demons are stopped with a bomb but some survive and reek havoc on our world.
Appearance
Abkani Demons are black dog-like/reptillian creatures with long tails and razor sharp teeth and claws. They possess dorsal spines and bony plates. Limb muscles are well-defined.

Fate
Individual Abkani Demons are dispatched throughout the film. Large numbers of Abkani Demons are blown up while still in the gate cavern. Some Abkani Demons are implied to survive the events of the film indicated by surface destruction and the final scene.
