The Alien Spiders are the main antagonists of the 2001 Spanish adventure horror film Arachnid.
When a plane crashes on a mysterious island, the survivors have to survive the attacks of a bunch of poisonous spiders and arachnids.
Appearance
The Alien Spiders are giant spiders that have an unknown origin. They have four big eyes, plus four small ones. They also have a long thorax, a separate head (from the usual cephalothorax), two claws, four mandibles, and eight long legs to stab their victims.
Powers and Abilities
The Alien Spiders possess the following powers and abilities:
- Sharp legs.
- Digestive juices.
- Sticky webs.
- Claws.
Fate
The main Alien Spider is killed when Lauren Mercer, who is wrapped in silk, pulls at the web strand, causing the spider to drop down from the cave ceiling, and get impaled on a stalagmite.
However, when Mercer and tribesman "Toe Boy" help an injured Valentine during the island escape, a skull-headed Alien Spider is seeing watching the trio from the trees.

- Brian Yuzna, the producer of the film, is famous for other horror movies like Necronomicon and The Re-Animator film series.
