The Baryonyx is a dinosaur that appears in a few dino media. Its major appearance, in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, takes the form of Rudy, the main antagonist. It also appears in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, where it is hidden in a sewer tunnel. It will re-appear in Jurassic World Dominion.
Role in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
Rudy is an albino Baryonyx who came out of the jungles to attack Buck. During his earlier appearances, he appears as a shadowy dinosaur figure. During the final battle, he is revealed to have albinism.
Later, Rudy was fallen into a cliff after the Tyrannosaurus pushed him away. He seemed to survived the fall, as he is shown with Buck riding him near the end of the film.
Role in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
Claire Dearing and Franklin Webb walked around in the control room. They encountred a Baryonyx who came out from a sewer tunnel. Whilst it was chasing them, it fails to do so as it was locked inside the control room.
Another Baryonyx was briefly seen being transported to a boat by a helicopter.
Trivia
- A Baryonyx was originally going to be the main antagonist of Jurassic Park III, but in the final production it was later replaced by its larger relative, the Spinosaurus.
