Birkin is the antagonist in the 2021 film Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.
Dr. William Birkin, in charge of an orphanage for the Umbrella Corporation, steals children for his own personal research into the "T" Virus. During an attempt to steal his virus Dr Birkin is shot and injects himself with the virus. The resulting infection causes Birkin to mutate and go insane.
