Trivia
- The dwarves were played by children.
- The alien dwarves bear a strong resemblance to the Jawas of Star Wars, but the design for the dwarves was already completed before Star Wars (1977) was released.
- There were discussions to make the creatures in Phantasm a different color, possibly grey instead of the brown robes they and the Jawas seem to both favor. Coscarelli mentions so many of the scenes with Phantasm's dwarfs had been shot and they decided to keep the brown robes.
- The sequence where you only hear the main actors talking and Mike flicks a lighter only to see one of the dwarf creatures was completely cut from the film in early released versions.
- Gravers exhume corpses.
- From Mike's dialogue in P1, he assumes they are sized down due to the heavier gravity and higher temperature.
- Lady in Lavender, Alchemy and Jennifer appear to be phantasmal creatures directly linked to the Tall Man but not dwarves.
- The dwarfs are technically zombies since they're literally brainless, undead creatures.
