Elektroid CPU Alexi Assault Drone is the first assault drone encountered in the film Virus (1999).

Ship's Captain Alexi Vinogradova was cut up for parts and used as an assault drone by the Elektroid Sentient Energy being. Nadia Vinogradova (chief science officer) was his wife.

Appearance

Elektroid CPU Alexi Assault Drone looks like a man/machine cyborg. However, the 'man' parts are gory and shredded, loosely draped over the mechanoid skeleton. It has a hand gun attached to its arm.

Powers and Abilities

Elektroid CPU Alexi Assault Drones possess the following powers and abilities:

  • Tethered locomotion
  • Carry, Aim and Fire guns
  • Grab and Twist prey's limbs
  • Withstand direct small arms fire
  • Mechanical advantage

Fate

Elektroid CPU Alexi Assault Drone did not survive the film.

  • Steve, Richie and Woods return to the bridge with the incapacitated Alexi Assault Drone and put it on a table. They cut its cables to render it 'dead'. However, when Richie was checking it out he found it's brain processor was still 'alive' and the drone surged grabbing Nadia's arm starting to twist it off when Hiko cut the arm off with his machete. Meanwhile Steve was hammering its skull with the butt of his gun. The combination of this additional damage caused the Alexi Drone to short out, finally killing it.

  • Levan Uchaneishvili as Alexi Vinogradov in the beginning ship's crew sequences when the entity beams down from the Mir.
