The Giant Komodo is the antagonist in the 2004 Syfy film, Curse of Komodo.
On a tropical island, genetically mutated Komodo dragons find themselves facing the prospect of a feast. Their main course consists of a team of scientists, led by professor Nathan Phipps, that has been ordered by the military to destroy all evidence of the secret experiments it has been conducting. Their dessert is served in the form of a group of robbers who arrive on the forsaken island. Unless the humans manage to destroy the killer lizards, mankind is doomed.

The Giant Komodo looks like a Komodo Dragon only much larger.

- When Professor Phipps and his companions are confronted at the disabled jeep by the giant komodo dragon, he starts shooting with a bolt-action rifle. He fires on semi-automatic (i.e. one shot per trigger pull). Bolt-action rifles are incapable of such fire. Firing one requires the shooter to operate the bolt in order to eject the spent cartridge casing and chamber a fresh round.
- After the komodo dragon has been blown to bits by the C4 block, not a single piece of blown up komodo dragon can be seen on the ground.
