The Kennel-Thing is a minor antagonist in the 1982 American horror film The Thing.
After being taken in by the crew of the American outpost and placed in the kennel with the other sled dogs, the Kennel-Thing rapidly mutates and attempts to assimilate their biomass.
Appearance
The Kennel-Thing is a large bulbous mass of flesh and organs that possesses a slimy, dog-like head on the end of a long neck. Erupting from this mass are several intestine-like tentacles used to assimilate prey. The main mass also has several spider-like legs and a few canine legs sticking out haphazardly.
Eventually the Kennel-Thing grows two reptilian hands from its back, as well as several human eyes on its torso. The Kennel-Thing also opens a fleshy orifice on its torso, revealing a "flower" with dog tongue petals on the end of a long stalk.
