The Palmer-Thing is a minor antagonist in the 1982 American horror film The Thing.
When Palmer is exposed as an imposter by the team's blood test experiment, he transforms into a toothy creature and attacks (and infects) Windows.
At first, the Palmer-Thing resembles Palmer, but with grotesquely swollen boils covering his face and swollen eyes that ooze blood. Eventually, the Palmer-Thing's head splits in half vertically, revealing a vertical toothy mouth with a long tongue.
Powers and Abilities
The Palmer-Thing possesses the following powers and abilities:
- Tentacle-like tongue
The Palmer-Thing is killed after MacReady burns it alive and then blows it up with dynamite.
- The scene of the Palmer-Thing bursting through the wall is likely a reference to a similar scene from the 1951 film The Thing From Another World.
