Remus Lupin is a protagonist/antagonist in the 2004 film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. He was bitten by the vicious werewolf (Fenrir Greyback) when he was a small child and became infected with lycanthropy. The condition being incurable, he was doomed to live his life as a werewolf. He is the professor for Defence Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Remus Lupin as a werewolf is primarily a quadraped with extended but non-muscular appendages with claws on his paws.

Trivia
- J.K. Rowling revealed that after graduating from Hogwarts, Lupin still found it difficult to find paying work, because nobody wanted to employ a werewolf.
- Lupin was a member of the original Order of the Phoenix.
