The Split Face, also known as the Split Face Thing, is a minor antagonist in the 1982 American horror film The Thing and its prequel.
Initially discovered by the American team as a burnt corpse, it is eventually revealed that the Split Face is the Thing resulting from the fusion of American scientist Adam Finch and Norwegian geologist Edvard Wolner.
Appearance
The Split Face is essentially two human torsos fused together and moving in a crab-walking position, both heads fused at the mouth and dangling uselessly.

Fate
The Split Face is killed after Kate burns it alive. However, the 1982 film shows that it is not really dead. It is finally burned sufficiently along with the other Thing remains.
Trivia
- There are some minor anatomical inconsistencies between the two films' depictions of the Split Face.
