The Sumatran Rat Monkey is a minor antagonist in the 1992 New Zealand horror-comedy film Braindead.
Hailing from Skull Island, the Sumatran Rat Monkey is a vicious disease-carrying hybrid created by the island's monkeys being raped by plague-spreading rats.
Appearance
Sumatran Rat Monkey resembles a gray monkey-like creature with a rat-like face.

Sumatran Rat Monkey possesses the following powers and abilities:

- Stength - it able use it claw to knock out their prey dead also strong enough to rip off monkey arm
- Infectious bite
Fate
After it bites her, the Rat Monkey is stomped to death by Nora.

- The Rat Monkey was animated by stop-motion animation.
- The Rat Monkey's native environment, Skull Island, is the same island inhabited by King Kong. In the 2005 King Kong remake directed by Peter Jackson (who also directed Braindead), one of the crates on the ship being carried back from Skull Island is labeled "Sumatran Rat Monkey -- Beware the Bite!"
