The Meg, also known as the Megalodon, is a gigantic prehistoric shark that appeared in the 2018 monster film The Meg and its 2023 sequel, Meg 2: The Trench.
Appearance
The Meg is a 75 foot megalodon with a brown back and a lighter underbelly. By 2023, the species is discovered to be able to grow to significantly larger lengths.

Fate
During the 2018 encounter, the smaller Megalodon is killed when the crew poison it with a large dose of etorphine while the larger one is later killed by being devoured by a whole swarm of sharks after Jonas sliced open its underside with his submarine which spilled out its blood to attract them and immobilized it by impaling it through the eye with a harpoon.
By 2023 the institute running the Mana One facility has seemingly tamed one female Megalodon, although she breaks out of her enclosure when she goes into heat and pairs up with two males. The first and smaller of these males is killed with a jury-rigged explosive harpoon. The larger of the two males is then later killed by impaling itself onto a helicopter rotor blade while attempting to eat Jonas. The tamed female escapes when it chases after a pod of dolphins after choosing not to eat its trainer.
