The Yeti Snow Demon is the antagonist in the 2008 Syfy film, Yeti: Curse of the Snow Demon.
When a plane crashes into the Himalayas the survivors face the perilous plummeting temperatures along with a huge hairy beast devouring them like frozen ready meals.
Appearance
Yeti Snow Demon is a giant humanoid monster with yellowish grey blue skin covered in dirty white fur, strong arms,ape like hands and a large polar bear like head with very human looking eyes
Powers and Abilities
Yeti Snow Demons possess the following powers and abilities:
- Great Strength
- can survive avalanches although it can still be injured
- strong sense of smell and hearing
Fate
Yeti Snow Demon is killed after being stabbed by a spear and falling off a cliff although another yeti crashes a copter
Trivia
- The screenplay's original title was "Raksha: Curse of the Snow Demon". Raksha means 'demon' in Tibetan Sanskrit.
- It took 3 and 1/2 hours each day to get the actor into the full yeti suit.
- The guy misses the rabbit with the suitcase and the girl spears it. In the next scene they are back at the camp cooking what is supposed to be a rabbit but what we see is a chicken. Rabbits don't have wings and drumsticks.
- After the crash, the survivors are desperate for lighters or matches so they can get a fire going, despite the fact that burning debris is all around them.
- The American college football team is ostensibly on its way to play a game in Japan. There's no explanation as to why a flight from the US to Japan would be crossing over the Himalayas.
- The outside shots of the plane shows it as a Boeing 747, however, the interior of the plane is one of a very narrow 737 with one aisle and two sets of three seats per row. The 747 has two aisles with at least two more seats per row.
- In the film Alive (1993) the plane of a sports team crashes in the Himalayas and they resort to cannibalism.
